Virtual shoveling madness at the noon class.

So Skip and the gang over at Front Range CrossFit have invited us over for a WOD at their gym this Saturday the 21st at 9am.  Their goal is to give the judges for the Regional CrossFit Games a little practice run… the workout is just a bonus.  So what do you say?  Who's up for a road trip?!?

  1. Rich :

Here is an interesting forum I came across during my hours of surfing the internet reading about crossfit and pale – yes I am addicted!
    http://cavemanforum.com/
And here is an excel sheet which I found on that forum that is a pretty cool tool to take some of the guess work/research out of the fuel/food portion of our addiction:

ahhahaha Tammer, you crack me up! I want to hang out and be bored with you sometime.!
    Here is a quote:
    “Don’t bust your WOD”
and, the past two days, I have noticed a huge increase in my energy level and my recovery time has gone down dramatically. I would have to say that the Paleo challenge is working.

  8. tiff :

any ideas for paleo style backpacking?? (coming up next week) all i can think of is mucho jerky, dried fruit, nuts type o deal….suggestions are very welcome!

  9. Sara Weisbart :

Hi everyone! Wanted to say hi! Today was my first day at Crossfit Boston. We did back squats 7×2. My max was 165, which was 15 pounds higher than last time I did them at the Verve! They are all very nice! It should be a good 6 weeks, however… The Verve is WAY better! I miss you all!
Paleo is going good. I’m very surprised with myself for sticking with it so well even while I was on vacation in Florida. The paleo kits SAVED the day on my flight days! Thanks Matt and Cherie for sharing some with me! I’m going to have to order some more I think.
Found out today that Tequila is okay on Paleo because it is not made from grains! I don’t plan on drinking ever, but it was nice to be able to have a few drinks with my friends today for the holiday! I just counted the drinks as my carb blocks. I am interested to see if my performance will increase in the next few weeks. I continue to lose weight though. None of my clothes fit me! Pretty crazy! Well, miss you all! Good luck!

  10. Rich :

    21 rounds in today’s workout – unassisted.
Tammer is definitely increasing his chances of a free t-shirt with all his ideas – I wish I was creative too!
    CrossFit
    V itality
    E xtreme
    R esolve
    V igor
    E ndurance
Or, Crossfit Verve: “Anyone can do it at sea level, try it at a Mile High!”

  11. Luke :

Sara- Thanks for the tip on the tequila. :)
I had a first today: I dry heaved. About twenty minutes in, I tried to turn in on . . . and about three rounds into that, my insides decided that they had had about enough. Couldn’t believe it. Ended up with 25 rounds. Tom, 28 rounds is impressive. Way to be.
    Count me in for Saturday.

  12. Luke :

Oh yeah, I figured that even though The Hammer has got the inside track on the t-shirt, I’d throw in an idea: Crossfit Verve: Live Bigger, Live Stronger.

  13. Emmalee :

Coun me in for Sat as well!

  14. James :

28 rounds is pretty impressive. I clocked 18, subbing 3 parallel bar (ok, I pushed two tables together) dips for each ring dip.
I like Tammer’s “pain is temporary – pride is forever.”
    How about: “Life: AMRAP”

  15. Joylyn :

19 rds, red band on ring dips. Felt good after 2 days at work. Love those long workouts, I can FEEL the body fat burning up!
I’m working Sat and Sun, so have fun at Front Range, catch you on the next one!

  16. Jeff McD :

15 rounds and found out that kipping on dips is a must since I was spent by my 13th round. The pullups were challenging but didn’t kick my butt as usual.

  17. Matt :

    29 rounds – no abmat.
