We are in full swing for the Conquer Denver tryouts.  We’ve seen some amazing performances.  When we announced the workouts, a lot of athletes thought the weights might be too heavy.  You know what’s happened?  Everyone is exceeding their own expectations.  It’s amazing to see athletes battling through the workouts and surprising themselves.  Simply goes to show that all the work all of you have put into your fitness is paying off.  Don’t be fooled, these workouts are regional level workouts. Individual regional level workouts too! You are all kicking butt.  

This Saturday and Sunday will be the In House Competition.  Remember all athletes are encouraged to participate.  We will begin after the last WOD’s on Saturday and Sunday.  All workouts can be scaled and this is a great opportunity to see what a competition type atmosphere is all about.  We will have judges and scorecards for everyone.

If you are doing the workouts in hopes of making the Verve team that will participate in the Conquer Denver competition you MUST submit your scorecards by Tuesday evening.  I’ll compile all the data and we will select the team and let those that will represent Verve by Friday of next week.  We will also have 1 male and 1 female as alternates.

I will have score sheets available at the gym on Saturday and Sunday if you don’t have the opportunity to print your own.

Speaking of competitions, November 23rd and 24th is the annual Turkey Challenge at MBS CrossFit.  We have several athletes participating as individuals and on teams.  To celebrate the participation of our athletes, we will gather at Jakes on Sunday evening immediately after the competition ends.  We hope to get a head count of who would like to join us at Jakes.  Please RSVP via the comments section if you would like to attend.  That night is The Broncos vs. The Patriots game on Sunday Night Football. Obviously the  Broncos don’t really have a chance, but it should be a fun game none the less.  Everyone is invited so come celebrate our athletes participation in the Turkey Challenge and see one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.  Ill post additional reminders about the night out at Jakes as the date gets closer as well.

      I had a blast doing the competition WOD’s, by the way. Well, I felt that way once I was done, in any case.

    To clarify, are we out of contention for the team consideration if we’re unable to cram WODs 3-5 into our second Open Gym session? I may have to split them up to keep from breaking myself.

    We do need you to finish all three in one day using the designated rest between WODs. Speaking from experience, you will get through it far better then you think you will. Bring yourself in here today and we’ll get you through it.
