EVERYDAY WARRIOR BATTLE SERIES IS ALMOST HERE!! – Workout for a great cause (Anna Mattson)

It is an unfortunate reality that a majority of us know someone who has been affected by cancer. Everyday Warrior is an organization who helps to inspire, empower, and support members of the CrossFit community currently undergoing treatment for cancer.  We know the Verve community is as passionate and supportive as a community can get!!

WHEN:  EVERY Friday November 2nd – 29th.  We will be incorporating the workouts into our programming on Fridays and will be performing the workouts in every class whether you are registered or not (so you might as well register).  PLEASE READ:  We will be opening up the gym to ANYONE from any gym competing in the Battle Series EVERY FRIDAY at 6pm to add to the exciting environment that comes with these workouts.

HOW: Go to THIS LINK to register for the competition.  There is an RX, Master, Scaled, and Teen division that you can register for.

WHY: As we mentioned before, we all know someone who has been affected by cancer.  I implore you to check out the website to see how and why the organization was created.  You will also be able to read some of the stories of the CrossFitters that have received support from the organization.  The following is some information directly from the website:

This year an estimated 1.66 million people will be diagnosed with cancer.  For many of them, the financial burden of medical bills, co-pays, and deductibles coupled with the inability to work during treatment will make it nearly impossible to focus on the fight at hand.  Everyday Warrior helps to ease, if not eliminate this financial burden.

Unlike may cancer-based charities, money raised by Everyday Warrior goes directly the individual or family affected by the disease and subsequent financial burden.  This allows these individuals to spend funds however they see fit, whether it’s mortgage or car payments, buying groceries or simply breathing a littler easier each month.

PLEASE let us know in the comments if you plan on competing for this great cause and, if you are comfortable, why you are competing.  PLUS – the gym with the most members registered wins a Skierg!!! (contain your excitement)

DO IT!!!!!!!!!

Doing it! Any support I can give.

    I’m in, cuz why not?
I have a vivid memory from when I was younger of my Dad, aunts, and uncles giving blood to my Aunt as she was fighting cancer. All it takes is a little effort from a few people to make a big difference in people lives. We’re all working out anyway, why not for a cause.
