So now begins that time of year when depression starts to set in for me and I’m sure for a lot of other people. As a football fan I now know that the season has come to an end and there are many a days until it’s back. Given this sad realization, I was looking for some motivational or funny tidbits of information to lessen my negative mood.  I came across an interesting article that asked 25 influential people that typically give out advice, what advice they’d been given over the years that has helped them.  Check out the full article titled; We Asked 25 Experts for the One Piece of Advice That’s Changed Their Life the Most, by click HERE.

Here are a few of my favorites.

“While we do want to get everyone from point A to point Z, never forget that we just have to get to point B first.”  Chris Powell

Think about the above.  This is so true inside our gym.  We see complex moves when we first start and really want to get there, but first we need to work on certain mechanics before we can begin to attempt the complex moves, point B, C, D,E,etc…all the way to Z.

“Diet and Nutrition is 80 to 90 percent of the battle.  You can’t outrun your fork!”  Steve Kamb, founder of Nerd Fitness.

It’s sounds simple but it’s so true.  Working our butts off in the gym is part of the solution but we all know how important what we put into our bodies is.  Probably a good one to start thinking about especially since the Superbowl was yesterday and I’m sure some of the nutritional choices we made weren’t what we would call healthy.

“Sleep earlier, Sleep More.” Robb Wolf, author of the Paleo Solution.

Those four words say it all.  Sleep is awesome so get more of it to help with recovery, mood, and just feeling better overall.

Many more pieces of advice are in the article so give a click through to and read then entire article.  If you have some piece of advice that has helped you, please share it in the comments section, I  could use it today.
