Joylyn and Mas are showing their excitement about the new year and all it has in store.

This weekend, several athletes from CrossFit Verve, as well as other CrossFit affiliates from the Denver area, will be competing in the Bare Knuckles Weightlifting Showdown at MBS CrossFit.  It's sure to be a good time and a great opportunity to test your abilities at the Olympic lifts.  For those of you that don't wish to participate, MBS CF is welcoming spectators – which we highly encourage.  There will be alot of varying ability levels and you can learn something from simply watching.

For anyone interested in competing or watching, please see the "Events" page and check out the Olympic weightlifting rules.  You'll be expected to understand these rules by the time of the competition, so today will be a great time to clear up any questions.  Remember, you don't have to set any records – but you do have to go in with a positive attitude and an expectation to have fun!

    As always, school is proving to be more of a hassle than beneficial……I have class during the Bare Knuckles Showdown :(
    I really, really wanted to do today’s WOD, the elements #2 but I also did not want to move more than I had to.
    Can’t wait for tomorrow!

    Amy, this WOD would be the perfect day to get a second workout in. If you’re up to it, make up the E#3 WOD and post your time. It’s a good one… very nice.
    I’d also like to give props where they’re due: Mas and Joylyn have made huge progress in January. Just look at the picture… that was January 1st. You guys are lookin’ great and your performance has been fantastic. Keep it up – the wedding will be here in no time.

    That was really fun doing two workouts today.
    Kiley, great job today! Checking yesterday’s times, you beat the entire Crossfit Verve community! Hell yeah! It’s hard to squeeze in so many reps in such a short time.
    Anthony, when I think back to working out by myself for so long with crossfit workouts, I realize how much of the form, I didn’t know that I didn’t know. Thanks for the tips and pointers especially on the snatch. Thanks much
