The full cycle clean and jerk is a kettlebell clean followed by a jerk with a kettlebell in each hand.  Setting the kettlebells down to rest is permitted.

Chelsea push pressin' during Elements #2. 

Today is Anthony's first official day as CrossFit Verve trainer.  Although most of you have met him and done a WOD or two with him, you may not know that in addition to being a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, he is also a CrossFit Barbell Coach and CrossFit Olympic Lifting Coach.  Anothony also is a kettlebell guru, so learn a ton from him today.  When he's not CrossFitting he's a BLM Smoke Jumper, so he has a ton of great stories.

    I just wanted everyone to know that tomorrow is Jared and my last day logging our month of strict Zone (it certainly will not be the last day of Zone eating). Jared’s progress is ridiculous and I will send Matt and Cherie before and after pictures…maybe they will end up on the site?

    Anthony, congrats man. You’re an awesome guy and pretty much define the word badass. I can’t say enough how much I love being apart of our little crossfit community. Matt and Cherie, thank you for all the amazingly hard work you guys put in, day in and day out. It’s one thing to start a new adventure that, while taxing, is fun because of its novelty. It’s a whole nother level when you put in hard work day in and day out for something you love, long after the new fresh car scent has worn off… and there you are. I can’t wait for our new building, not so much for the sake of my frreezing toes, but for you guys.

    300 squats in wind, snow, ice, and running stairs is no Joke… I take back all the nasty things I said about you during the workout, Matt. Just like the things Cherie has to say about your workouts when your not around. LoL
    Anthony, great job on the training today. I left proud, inspired, forearm-less, sweating, and unable to count my reps… The kettle bell workouts are awesome, especially when the muscle memory and improved efficiency in the movements begin to take place after the level of fatigue. Another satisfying crazy Crossfit woopin!
    My next challenge is taking all of my slacks in to get them brought in a few inches. The 4-weeks of Zone was amazing. After getting into the swing of zone, I feel I have the direction and choosing power that is effective to control my body’s nutrition and structure. I can see that I will always be zoning for the rest of my life because I learned it about understanding how to give your body what it needs. Its a small investment of measuring and making food, to gain all of the benefits you have to experience for yourself. You have to earn the benefits for yourself to experience them… Its too hard to explain how great it feels! Thanks for everyones support and sense of community!
    I feel the best I have ever felt in my life!
    I AM going to be very good at Crossfit!

    I did the fifty burpee clean+jerks today @ work–yuck! I have to do some serious work on my “jerk” to not “press”.

    My workout–read “struggle”–@ the rec did catch the notice of a guy named Jeff who introduced himself with “Hey, that looks like some Crossfit.” He is a Crossfit instructor, along with Krav Maga and Brazilian Jujitsu (sp?).
    Crossfit is EVERYHWERE! They are watching. lol

    I believe Jared drank the Kool-Aid. It’s an expression that is rampant around the CrossFit community, because once you give it a sip its totally irresistable from that point on. This is the real deal and you guys are a part of it!
    Joylyn, we are happy to have you. Your workout yesterday was frustrating (I saw it in your eyes), but you toughed it out and made the best of it. Its that attitude that separates CrossFitters from others – the willingness to work hard in the face of adversity.
