As we discussed in earlier posts, the Tuesday workouts will also be used for consideration for the Verve Regional Team.  Some of the workouts will be shorter and therefore have judges.  Other workouts will be longer and therefore you’ll have to police yourself when it comes to range of motion and the counting of reps.  We know that nobody would do this on purpose, but when you’re  tired math is hard.  That was for you Jorge.

We ask that all people judge during the Open workouts and occasionally on the Tuesday workouts.  Judging is a great way to see what good range of motion looks like and it helps all athletes when it comes to making sure that they are performing the movements the way they are intended to be with good mechanics.

If you can’t perform the workout in a class, which we highly encourage, be sure to get it done by the following Monday.  If you can’t do it in a class you’ll need to have someone judge you so we can verify your score.  Speaking of judging, if you come in to do your Open workout during open gym, the trainers might not be able to judge you as they are usually busy with other tasks.  Please schedule a time or bring your own judge.  The judge you use during open gym must have passed the judges course.  This means you’ll have to work to find your own judge or to help, go online and take the course so we have extra judges available.  We had some really good scores in the first week of the Open and we’re hoping that all those interested will take the Tuesday workouts as serious.  

Please let us know if you have any questions.  We are programming these as a group and the goal with having them on Tuesday is to provide enough recovery by the time the next Open workout happens on the following Friday.  If you are trying to make the Regional team you will of course have to do the workout as prescribed.  We will be testing higher skill movements that aren’t likely to be seen in the Open as well as some heavier movements that we may see.
